Guest checkout data will be remembered if a user navigates away from the checkout page for any reason. We implemented a solution to keep the details within the same session if a guest navigates away from the checkout to the menu.
Previously, guest information (name, email address, phone) was not saved, so if a customer was on the checkout page, entered information, navigated away from the page, and back to the checkout, all the data was lost.
The solution is GDPR friendly (which means we don’t store anything on our side). The context will keep the following fields
- Name (if entered)
- Phone number (if entered)
- Email address (if entered)
Of course, we don’t keep any credit card details.
